Since
1963, the Chicago Kendo Dojo (“CKD”) has been a place where kenshi have gathered to practice kendo, or the Japanese “Way of the
Sword”. Individuals and teams representing CKD have won numerous local
and regional competitions and have also represented the dojo and the
Midwest Kendo Federation in national tournaments.
In addition to the competitive aspects of kendo, members of CKD remain dedicated to developing an awareness of and appreciation for the mental and spiritual side of kendo. Members of CKD endeavor to practice the etiquette and respect for others observed in kendo not only within the confines dojo, but throughout their daily lives.
